| At the outbreak
of the 2nd World War the government made the decision to build a Royal
Ordnance Factory at Puriton. All ROF's were given a number. ROF Bridgwater
was allocated No37. A contractors hut was built outside of the Factory
fence and when the works were complete the management of the site
decided to use the contractors hut as a social meeting place for the
workers. They named it the 37 Club. Over the years we have endeavored
to add to the building and turn it into one of the best social clubs
in the area with membership availability extended to everyone.
